Welcome to the Holiday Card and Gift Blog Hop hosted by Jamie at Glitter, Stamps and Paper, Oh My!
If you haven't come her from her blog head back over there to start at the beginning of this hop for some awesome inspiration.
I decided to do photo wallets this year as stocking stuffers for everyone in my family. It is a nice way for all the Grandparents to have new pictures of the kids. Plus, I like to keep one in my purse with updated pictures of my precious little baby.
These are super simple to make and fast, which during the holidays is always the best. There are several You Tube videos out there on how to make them. Just to get you started you can check one out here and here. If you would like written directions, I created a little step by step with photos, that I would be happy to share with you. Just leave me a comment on this post and I will email them to you.
I usually start with paper that is double sided just for ease. You want to be careful of the paper's weight, though. If you select paper that is too thick it makes it really hard to fold. You can also use a single sided sheet, then stamp on the backside or paint it or leave it white.
I start with a square. 12x12, 9x9, 8x8, 6x6, etc. I haven't made one yet that is smaller than 6x6. It just seems to small. Personally, I like the 12x12 size for women because they usually have a purse to fit everything in. I use the 8x8 size for men, because it fits perfectly in a credit card sleeve for their wallets. For the examples I'm showing today, I used all Close to My Heart papers and stamps.
Finished product. The one on the left is from an 8x8, the one on the right is from a 12x12.
This is what it looks like once you have folded it all together.
This is a look at the inserts with the pictures on them. For these small sizes, I try to keep the embellishments to a minimum so it doesn't make wallets any thicker. I also do photos on both sides so you could get up to twelve photos if you wanted too.
The next couple of photos show where the inserts would go in the photo wallet.
For this example, I made a little wrap to go around the finished wallet. It slides on and off of the end. I then attached some layered flowers to it. Again, my intentions for this would be in a women's purse so it can be a little thicker then the men's.
The back of the wrap.
Hope you enjoyed my little project. I would love for you to follow my blog, as well! I love sharing my craft with people and checking out other individuals inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! Next on the stop is Jill at Scrapoholic. She is sure to have something fantastic waiting for you.
